Built on a Father’s Dream and a Son’s Dedication

Our shawarma tells a story of tradition, hard work, and the flavors of home, shared with our community, one meal at a time.

Mashahweez is a family-owned Iraqi restaurant built by a father and son with one goal: to share the flavors of Iraqi food and hospitality with our community.

Together, we created Mashahweez to bring authentic Iraqi shawarma, grilled favorites, and the welcoming spirit of Iraqi hospitality to Vienna, Virginia.

At Mashahweez, it’s more than just food, it’s about family, tradition, and making everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome.

Our spices are imported directly from Iraq. Our meats are halal and high quality. And our shawarma is prepared the Iraqi way, marinated for 48 hours, stacked by hand on the spit, and turned slowly over fire.

“Mashahweez” means barbecue in Arabic, and the name is a promise.

Step inside and our walls tell the journey, with hand-drawn murals of the Tigris, Mutanabbi Street and the gates of Babylon, flowing into the monuments of our new home.
